Obituary for Hyacinth Beverlyn Gillispie (Wynter)

Hyacinth Beverlyn Gillispie, 61, of Martinsburg, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Berkeley Medical Center.

Born August 7, 1956, in St. Catherine Parrish, Jamaica, she was the daughter of the late Obadiah and Sarah “Brown” Wynter.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Henry Samuel Gillispie; one son, Marcus Mendez; two daughters, Louise Wilson and Lakiesha Gillispie; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Dave “Masu” Wynter, Fitzroy “Monte” Wynter, and Micheal “Charlie” Wynter; and four sisters, Leteza “Olive” Wynter, Jacqueline Fishley, Juliet Wynter Burrell, and Charmaine Wynter.

She was preceded in death by one son, Derrick Gillispie; and one sister, Debbiann Wynter.

Family will receive friends on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Lily of the Valley Evangel Church with Pastor Nathaniel Wright officiating.

Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
