Obituary for Donald Allen Sours

Donald Allen Sours, 89, of Martinsburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.

Born August 31, 1928 in Martinsburg, he is the son of the late Thomas Rainey Sours and Martha Matilda Knight Sours.

He was a United States Navy veteran. He retired from Dupont. He was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church. He was born at home, where he lived his entire life, until the last few hours when he was admitted into the care of hospice. He was known as a gentleman farmer, lover of life friends, family, and animals. He was an avid car enthusiast.

He is survived by his son; Craig Byron Sours; and beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jane Lamp Sours; second wife, Anna Blanch Webber Sours; one daughter, Donna G. Sours Hess; four sisters, Vinda Barrett, Mildred Sullivan, Jessie Moreland, and Christine Gerthung.

Memorial service will be at 1:30PM on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Rufus Burton and Rev. Randall Coyle officiating. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Berkeley County Humane Society, 554 Charlestown Road, Martinsburg, WV 25405.
