Obituary for Howard Franklin Lanham Sr.

Howard Franklin Lanham, Sr., age 72, passed away on March 10, 2018 from leukemia.

He graduated from Hedgesville High School in 1963 and married his wife Judy in 1964. He worked at Corning Glass and moved to Alexandria, VA to complete computer training where he then received a position with NASA at Langley, VA. He worked with computers as a manufacturing engineer at Bendix in Newport News, VA; at Litton Data Systems in Lubbock, TX and later in Los Angeles, CA. He worked at several other positions in LA until he returned to the East Coast in 1998 where he worked in IT for US News and World Report. Later he worked at several car dealerships until he retired in 2013.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Judy (Breeden) Lanham, his son Howard Franklin Lanham, Jr., daughter-in-law Jennifer (Walter) Lanham, his son Kevin Andrew Lanham and companion Stefanie Judd, his grandchildren Andrew Lanham, Kathryn Lanham, Kaitlyn Allen, Benjamin Wright, and Brittany Plotner; and his brothers Richard Lanham and Mark Lanham; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father Luther Edgar Lanham, his mother Blanche Louise Lanham, a son David Todd Lanham, and a brother Luther Edgar Lanham III

He loved the Lord and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a people person who never met a stranger. At the end he died the way he lived – with dignity and a joyous and loving heart. He took the time to call many people just to say goodbye and I’m glad you were a part of my life.

Family will receive friends on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg, WV.
