When my sister and I were younger mom and mam (what I call my grandmother - short for mammam) would take us shopping at the valley mall some Saturdays. Well mom and Christina would go shopping. Me and mam would sit on one the benches and people watch. At a mall in the late 80s and early 90s you saw all kinds of crazy looking people walk by - all the while we would be eating a Cindys Cinnamon bun or two even! After shopping was over, I would go home with her and help her get some groceries, always mindful to remember some sweets for my grandfather (I call him pap short for pappap). Mam usually had some sort of craft or puzzle going on. Always staying busy. I sitll have two of her crafts she made for me. An easter basket made out of a milk cartan and a sweater she made with the dot paints. I remember playing a game called food rummy with her and watching Ernest movies with pap. The next morning mam made sure I was in church where my parents would pick me back up again. It was important to her that we grew up in the church. At the time, being a kid, I did not want to go and for a time I left the church. Her Faith and Pastor Gene at TCC were the two factors that brought me back into the fold. We love you mam and we miss you! Rest in peace now in the hands of God.
