Obituary for Robert H. ""RB"" Burcker

Robert “RB” Burcker, 77, of Martinsburg, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.

Born April 21, 1940, in Jefferson County, WV, he was the son of the late Nathan Alfred Burcker and Rosa Mae Dodson Burcker.

He retired from The Martinsburg Housing Authority, with 22 years of service, as a Maintenance Supervisor.

RB was of Baptist faith, he loved raising and tending to farm animals, camping, fixing things around the house and made famous vegetable soup (10-12 gallons) with the help of his wife, he was very much a people person. He was an avid horseshoe player.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Gladys M. Cloud Burcker; two sons, Robert Burcker and wife Paula, Dennis “Pudge” Burcker and wife Tracy; two daughters, Jill Messner and husband Dale, Amy Roberts and husband Brian; one stepson, Roger Nisewarner and partner, Bob; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Ray Burcker and wife Peggy; and one sister, Charlotte Weaning and husband Chuck; he is also survived by his former wife Sylvia Ann Johnson the mother of his four children; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Douglas “Bud” Burcker, Geraldine Willingham, Shirley Edwards, and Nathan “Jimmy” Burcker.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Bryan Dugger officiating. Interment will be in Falling Waters Presbyterian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Panhandle Home Health, 208 Old Mill Road, Martinsburg, WV 25401.
