Obituary for Daniel Joseph Desmond
Daniel Joseph Desmond, 76, of Gerrardstown passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.
Born July 15, 1941 in Washington, DC he was the son of the late Cornelius Joseph Desmond and Matilda Rose Forti Desmond.
He was a veteran of the US Navy having served four years during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Jeannette Desmond; two sons, James Andrew (Brenda S.) Desmond, James Francis (Amy) Desmond; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Timothy J. (Jean) Desmond, James J. Desmond; one sister, Patricia A. (Jim) Akowski, and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at St. Leo Catholic Church with Father Alfred Obiudu celebrant. Interment prayers will be said at St. Leo Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Leo Catholic Church.
