Joseph Edgar Gladden, 74, of Yellow Springs, WV passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

Born November 13, 1943 in Bunker Hill, WV he was the son of the late John and Elsie Orndorff Gladden.

He is survived by his wife, Nettie Connilee Smith Griffith Gladden; four sons, Rick and Jeanne Gladden of Hedgesville, Bobby and Penny Gladden of Curwensville, PA, David and Kim Gladden of Martinsburg, and Brian and Wendy Griffith of Waynesboro, PA; five daughters, Debbie Gladden of Martinsburg, Shirley Newman of Spotsylvania, VA, Ashley Gladden of Martinsburg, Julie and Dale Shank of Hagerstown, MD, and Laurie Griffith of Hagerstown; eighteen grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; three brothers, Earl Gladden of Martinsburg, Richard Gladden of Martinsburg, and Oscar Gladden of Hagerstown; and five sisters, Dorothy Corbin of Hedgesville, Veronica La-Rosa of Martinsburg, Debra Chan of Kearneysville, Mary Knight of Standardsville, VA; and Margaret Saylor of Martinsburg.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, John Gladden, William Gladden, Harry Gladden, and Henry Gladden; and one sister, Fern Quick.

Family will receive friends on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 2:00PM at the South Berkeley Chapel with Rev. Robert C. Jones officiating. Interment will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.
