Brookie C. Noble, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018.

Born April 19, 1923 in Wayne County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Henderson and Martha D. (Moore) Maynard.

She was a graduate of Shepherd College and Western Maryland College, currently known as McDaniel College, where she obtained her degree in education.

She was owner/operator of Brookie’s Beauty Salon and later became an elementary school teacher for the Washington County School System teaching at Dargan Elementary and Sharpsburg Elementary.

She was an over 70 year member of the Calvary United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She was Past Grand Matron of the Eastern Star Golden Rule Chapter #69, the Daughters of the Nile, and Fidelis Sunday School Class, and the Chancel Choir. She was a member of the Soroptomist Club.

She is survived by one son, Clarence R. Callahan and wife, Laura, of Towson, MD; one daughter Stephanie P. Hallenbeck and husband, Paul, of Woodbridge, VA; one son-in-law, Douglas Bloomfield; five grandchildren, Amanda Miller Banks, and Adam L., Karin S., Daniel P., and Brian S. Hallenbeck; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Bloomfield; and three brothers, Frank Sutherland, George Sutherland, and Y.B. Sutherland; and two sisters, Sidney L. Newsome and Phoebe Maynard.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Family will receive friends one hour prior from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to service. Entombment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
