Obituary for Ethel Elizabeth "Libby" Potter (McDonald)

Ethel Elizabeth “Libby” Potter, 65, of Kearneysville passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at her residence.

Born November 7, 1952 in Berkeley County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Otterbein McDonald and Dorothy Mae (Jones) McDonald and stepmother Jean Lorraine McDonald.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary in Charles Town, Red Men Lodge and Women of the Moose.

Libby is survived by her husband of 22 years, Roger Thomas Potter; one son, Richard T. Potter and wife Missy; two daughters, Gwen D. Kelso and husband Warren, Danielle Z. Brown and husband Lynn; one stepdaughter, Stephanie McDowell; six grandchildren, Jordyn E. Kelso, Maegyn M. Kelso, Kaitlynn M. Potter, Caleb D. Potter, Zavier O. Brown and Zalyn Z. Brown; two brothers, Robert E. “Gene” McDonald and spouse David, Kenneth W. McDonald and wife Vi; best friends, Brenda “Little Sis” Steepleton and Connie Dehaven; special cousin, Linda Pierce; three nieces and one nephew.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 1:00PM at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Staubs and Chaplain Twyla Rowe officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
