Obituary for Eva Adeline Oden (Bell)

Eva Adeline Bell Oden, 75 of Harpers Ferry passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at her home. Born March 12, 1942 in Charles Town, she was the daughter of the late Frank William Bell, Jr. and Eva Mae Painter. She worked as a housekeeper for Ben and Iris Wood. She was a loving mother, and grandmother, very vital, active and independent. Her social activities included the same group of friends for over 30 years, was an avid gardener and reader.

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Oden Weiant of Bunker Hill and Marcia Kidwell and husband David, Jr. of Harpers Ferry, two sisters, Martha Brackett of Ranson and Elizabeth Wilt and husband Kenneth of Harpers Ferry, three grandchildren, Robert Lee and Heather Marie Kidwell and Kelsea Anne Weiant and her father Michael Weiant. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Noble Oden, brother, Wilmer Bell and three sisters, Nancy Harding, Mary Louise Wiley and Beatrice Magaha. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the St. Andrews on the Mount Cemetery.
