Obituary for Carlton Lee "Jack" Esswein

Carlton Lee "Jack" Esswein, 84, of Inwood, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.
Born June 13, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, MO, he was the son of the late Edwin Esswein and Marie Esswein.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He sang in the choir at church.
Carlton was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from the IRS Center and the 167th Air National Guard as a Master Sargent.
He formerly played minor league baseball and was an avid bowler.
He is survived by three sons. Lonnie Esswein and wife Sharon, David Esswein and Jennifer Philbrick, and James Esswein and wife Mindi; four daughters, Donna Garrison, Patti Esswein and Brett Thunhorst, Sandy Turner and husband, Steve, and Dawn Hutzler and husband Joseph; twenty five grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Heishman Esswein, a daughter, Vicki Truax, two brothers, Fred and Wilbur Esswein.
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Homes' South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Day and Rev. James Riley officiating. Interment will be held in Rosedale Cemetery.
