Obituary for Gladys May Lord (McKee)

Gladys May Lord, 99, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.

Born January 3, 1918, in Berkeley County, WV, she was the daughter of the late John William and Effie May LeMaster McKee.

She was employed as a knitter with the former Dunn Woolen Company and Interwoven Mills.

She was a fifty plus year member of Calvary United Methodist Church where she volunteered in the kitchen and numerous other committees within the church. On December 9, 1976 she was awarded a special membership in the United Methodist Women's Organization.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Woodward "Bill" Lord. She was the last of her immediate family and preceded in death by three brothers, Ganz, Jack, and Homer McKee; and five sisters, Leatah Osborne, Ruth Gano, Mary Ellen Kinsell, Sarah Benner, and Beatrice E. Siler.

The family would like to thank Elmcroft, Hospice of the Panhandle, her church family, and friends for their continual visits and care.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 1:00PM at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to Calvary United Methodist Church, 220 W. Burke Street, Martinsburg, WV 25401.
