Obituary for Parthenia Delores Lee (Morris)

Parthenia D. Lee, 93, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, December 6. Born March 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Preston and Sarah (Branson) Morris. Parthenia was a lifelong member of the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Duffields, WV.

Parthenia was the beloved matriarch of the Lee family and will forever be remembered for her peaceful presence and core strength. She is survived by daughters Mildred Lee (and husband Carl Johnson) of Falling Waters, and Darlene Burke (and husband Larklyn) of Martinsburg; grandchildren Carl Lee of Alexandria, VA, Erica Alexis (and husband Francky) of Berkeley Springs, and Dana Burke (and fiancé John Hobday) of Berkeley Springs; great-grandchildren Samiah Thorne, Zelah Alexis, Ja’Kobe Hobday, Kaiis Alexis, and Anila Alexis; step-great grandchildren Jeremy Hobday and Tatianna Hobday; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends of the family. Parthenia was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee in 1999; two brothers Preston Morris and Calvin Morris; and three sisters Olive Crittenden, Corine Adams, and Nannie Collazo.

Parthenia was devoted to her family and church. She left an indelible sense of her zeal for life and her joy whether you met her for one moment or knew her for a lifetime.

Funeral services will be held at Brown Funeral Home at 327 W. King Street, Martinsburg, WV at Noon on Saturday, December 16 with Rev. Oliver Banks officiating. Visitation will precede the funeral at 10 a.m. at the same location.

Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
