Obituary for Mabel May Bass (Giffin)

Mabel May Bass, 84, of Martinsburg passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at her residence.

Born December 15, 1932 in Dargan, MD she was the daughter of the late Samuel Edward and Sarah Virginia Huff Giffin.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church.

She is survived by five sons, Eugene, Kevin, Keith, Curtis, and Douglas Bass; two daughters, Patricia Bass and Robin Gatrell; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One grandchild in particular, Mary Jo, who was her caregiver throughout her sickness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest W. Bass and one son, Dannie Edward Bass. She was the last of her immediate family being preceded in death by numerous sisters and brothers.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home with Pastor David Irvin officiating. Interment will be in Sample's Manor Cemetery in Dargan, MD.
