The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Roger Hite can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Roger William "RJ" Hite

Roger "RJ" William Hite, 27, of Martinsburg, born August 14, 1990 passed away at Berkeley Medical Center on October 31, 2017.
He was the son of Melinda Hovermale and Roger Hite, and Laura and Roger Fries of Martinsburg.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his daughter, Gwendolyn Scarlett Kay Prather; two grandmothers, Joyce Horner and Beverly Fries; seven brothers, Brett Fries, Tim Royer Jr., Logan Whetzel, Brandon Fries, Dustin Fries, Nathan Hite, and Colton Hite; six sisters, Amber Anders, Madeline Anders, Logan Adams, Jessica Shirley, Tiffany Fries, and Brooklyn Hite; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Cody Tyler Hite; three grandparents, Gary and Linda Hovermale, and Roger Fries Sr.
RJ was a graduate of Hedgesville High School a 4 year member of Hedgesville FFA and actively participated in the BCYF for 4 years. He played little league for South Berkeley and Hedgesville where he coached 1 year of senior league as well as an All-Star Team with his dad. He also participated in many of his siblings sporting events helping to coach.
He was a registered Organ Donor, his wish was to give the gift of life to others.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Harris officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
