The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

my brother

When I see you in Heaven, I'm going to be really mad at you for departing this earth too soon.  You were the best brother anyone could ever ask for.  For some odd reason, I was attached to your shirt tail early on in life.  You invented the bicycle for two. I rode on the back where there was no way to help you peddle but you carried us both.  People stopped and asked about your invention and how you made it!

You worked at Sanitary Food stores and always had a bit of cash in your pocket.  I would ask you to buy me candy, which at that time, was 5 cents a bar.  You made me earn that candy bar!!  I had to  wash your motorcycle and perform any duties that you required of me so you would buy me candy!  But, you always did.  You were always there for me.

You had an old gray car that over -heated most of the time. You carried a can of water to place in the radiator when it over heated.  I recall, so many times, sitting in the passenger seat and waiting for you to rescue me by adding water to the radiator and getting the car moving again.  You were always my hero.

You are still my hero.  You taught me about acceptance, spirituality, nurturing,  caring, and faith.   As I watched your life unfold, you were a hero to so many.  What a wonderful life you had and I am so grateful and proud to call you my brother.  Rest in peace, my beautiful brother.  I love you beyond words.  My heart is missing a piece where you belong.  I look forward to the day when we can be together again.  Well done, good and faithful servant.
