Obituary for Edgar Stewart Kane

Edgar Stewart Kane, 83, of Bunker Hill passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born August 15, 1934 in Berkeley County, WV he was the son of the late Franklin P. Doll Kane and Elsie Lancaster Kane and step-mother, Lena Kane.

He was a 1954 graduate of Musselman High School; served in the US Army for two years; and a member of Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church.

He retired from Corning Glass Works after 35 years.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlotte V. Strobridge Kane; two sons, Andrew S. Kane and wife, Jane, Shawn M. Kane and wife, Joanna; loving granddaughter, Emerson Noel Kane; one brother, Nelson Kane and wife, Dorothy; one sister, Elizabeth Ann Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie and Paul Kane; and two sisters, Regina Kane and Amy Davis.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 2:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Rev. Ron Potter and Rev. Mickey Jo Elliott officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at the funeral chapel on Wednesday. Interment will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery.
