Obituary for Ray Edward Getts, Jr.

Ray Edward Getts, Jr. 79 of Martinsburg, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 9, 2017 in the Clary Grove. Born April 21, 1938 in Charles Town, he was the son of the late Ray Edward Getts, Sr. and Carrie Lee Wilson Getts. He was a heavy equipment operator for the William A. Hazel Company.

He is survived by his wife Rose Virginia Kimble Getts at home, three sons, Walter “Sonny” Getts and wife Cindy of North Carolina, Dwight D. Getts of Martinsburg and Ray E. Getts, III and wife Debra of Bunker Hill; one daughter, Carrie L. Butler and husband Doug of Hedgesville, a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Gilbert Purdham, Charles Getts and Leo Purdham and sisters Juanita Pond and Virginia Shepherd.

Services and interment will be private.
