Obituary for Herman Suiter "Don" Parks

Herman “Don” Suiter Parks, 93, of Berkeley Springs, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017.

Born February 15, 1924 in Weldon, NC, he was the son of the late Frank Freddie Parks and Minnie Tidewell Parks.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a member electrician of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a member of the Victory Tabernacle Church in Hedgesville and served as a lay minister in prison ministries.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Louise Coleman Parks; one son, Kenneth W. Parks of Dover, DE; step-son, William L. English of Vinton, VA; daughter, Sandra L. Miller of Baltimore, MD; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother Eugene Parks of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and one sister, Virginia Trueblood of Oxford, CA.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Wilson; son, Michael E. Parks of Baltimore, MD; step-son, Coleman (PeeWee) English; four brothers, Frank Parks, Jr., Lindy Parks, Freddie Lewis Parks and Harry Parks of Baltimore, MD; and two sisters, Helen and Thelma Chesnut of Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Family will receive friends on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 1:00PM with Pastor Jerry Fletcher officiating. Military graveside services will be held in Hedgesville Assembly of God Cemetery.
