Obituary for Frances Hensell Blue (McKee)

Frances Hensell McKee Blue, 98 of Charles Town passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in the Homewood at Williamsport. Born April 26, 1919, in Martinsburg she was the daughter of the late Walter Lee McKee and Nannie Louise Hensell McKee. She was a member of the St. Peters Lutheran Church, Shepherdstown. Frances was a mother and member of the 4H, served on the Southern States Board, active in the Fair Association and a member of the Farm Bureau along side of her late husband.
She is survived by four sons, James Walter Blue, Sr. and wife Susan, Richard Franklin Blue and wife Mary Lee, John Kyner Blue and wife Kathy and Paul Michael Blue and wife Dorrie, all of Shenandoah Junction, three daughter, Nancy Blue Magaha and husband Richard of Charles Town, Mary Ellen Kirk of Hagerstown, Maryland and Nell Louise Blue of Shenandoah Junction, grandchildren, Jay and wife Amy and their children, Abigail, James and Jerimiah, Daniel and wife Staci, Thomas and wife Molly and daughter Violet, Sarah and husband Aaron and son Rodney, Jacob, Tiffany and husband Dustin and son Holden, Jason and wife Laura and daughter Kate.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Thurman Blue who passed away March of 2002, brother, Edward McKee and sister, Anna Shewbridge, son in-law, Robert Kirk.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m Monday, September 18, 2017 at the St. Peters Lutheran Church, Shepherdstown with the Reverend Karen Erskine-Valentine officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Brown Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
