Obituary for Joseph Ernest Voorhees, III

Joseph Voorhees, 65 and disabled American veteran, passed away on August 16, 2017 after a devastating 3 month battle with cancer. Joe spent 20 years in the US Navy serving with the Navy Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit (Bomb Squad) as a Master EOD Technician. Among his many accomplishments, Joe was one of the first EOD technicians assigned to a Naval Special Warfare Unit. After retirement Joe worked for the Dept. of State in Anti- Terrorism Assistance program.
In his spare time Joe loved to give private shooting lessons.
He is survived by his wife Kimberly Voorhees, daughter & son-in-law Elizabeth & Barry Phillips, son & fiancée Joseph Voorhees & Kathy Mularczyk, stepdaughter & son-in-law Krista Krause & Chris Stelick, stepson & daughter in law Jeffery Brown & Kaitlyn Sowa, 3 grandchildren Austin & Logan Phillips & Lance Brinkman, Mother & Stepfather Rosalie & Larry Angle, stepmother and predeceased father Carol & Joseph Voorhees Jr., In-laws Pete & Lillian Wolf, 5 brothers Tom, Randy, Ed, Mike, & Dave Voorhees, sister Carolann Sands, and 12 nieces & nephews.
Memorial service will be held 8:30 am, Monday, February 12, 2018, at the Fort Myers Chapel followed by a 9:00 am inurnment service at Arlington National Cemetery.
