Condolences

Condolence From: Mrs. Edwards
Condolence: I'm so very sorry to read about the passing of your loved one, I hope that your family will find comfort in the God of all comfort Jehovah. I too have felt the sting of death and although it's never easy to say goodbye to those we love, I was able to find much hope in Gods word the bible. 1Corinthians 15:26 And the last enemy, death, will be brought to nothing 1Corinthians 15:55 "Death where is your victory? "Death where is your sting? Revelation 21:4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more neither, will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away... I invite you to please go to JW.ORG where you can learn more about Gods purpose for mankind and how you can see your loved one again in a paradise right here on earth.

Condolence From: Fred Wagoner
Condolence: Mrs Steorts and daughters: I met Phil in 1980 and we worked a lot of nights together, helping each other. Mainly Phil helping me when I was the only Trooper out. Phil was great to work with, I consider him 1 of the best I had the opportunity to work with. He set a lot of good examples. I'll be working in Charleston on Wednesday and I am very sorry I won't be able to attend his service. I at least wanted to share with you how much I appreciated him and what a good person/officer I knew him to be. Fred Wagoner, WVSP Retired

Condolence From: Dan Walker
Condolence: I am sorry to have learned of Phil's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with the Steorts family. While Phil was the Conservation Officer in Berkeley County, my late father, David S. Walker, was the Conservation Officer in Jefferson County. These two would work together during deer season and I always got a kick listening to them banter over Phil having served in the Marines and my dad having retired from the Navy. Phil was a character and my dad liked him and liked working with Phil. I know he and my dad are in a place where there's no pain and suffering now.

Condolence: On behalf of the Eastern Panhandle Marines, of which Philip was a Life Member, we the members are sorry for your loss. Phil enjoyed meeting and helping with all our Detachment functions. Phil was a regular at events, fundraisers and meetings. He volunteered to render the salute to fallen Veterans each year at the Iron Mike Statue on Nov. 11th. He was a regular volunteer at fund raisers and enjoyed telling the people we meet about the local Marines and Marine history. Phil will be missed. He is now Guarding the streets of Heaven. As the Poet Binyon wrote: "At the Going Down of the Sun, And in the Morning, We will remember him."

Condolence: I'm so truly sorry. My heart hurts for the pain of your loss. Since Jesus compared death to sleep (John 11:11-14), something that brings me comfort is knowing that there is no cozier & safer place to be than taking a 'nap' in God's memory until the time he promises to awake these loved ones we have lost in death to be reunited with us (John 15:28,29), right here on an earth restored to his original purpose of perfect peace, health, & happiness (Psalm 37:11). And the fact that He then promises to get rid of death forever, tenderly wiping away all the tears it has caused (Isaiah 25:8), so we never have to worry about losing our beloved ones again. What a beautiful day that is to look forward to, being able to once again hold these ones we love & miss so dearly in our arms, & be held in their arms again too, & to know we can then do so under such perfect conditions forever. (Psalm 37:29) I pray God gives you comfort & strength to get through until that time. It's just around the corner. Every day that passes is one day closer. Sending hugs.

Condolence: To the Steorts' family, Having known Phil for almost 40 years, he was one of the upmost professionals. I could always get an answer if I needed a Ch20 question answered. He was dedicated to this State and it's natural resources. I know he has ascended the stairs to set aside our LORD. You can take comfort in knowing where he will spend eternity at the right hand of GOD. You will be reunited with him when the time is right. GOD BLESS YOU IN YOU TIME OF SORROW.
