Obituary for Marsha Nelle Maestrey

Marsha Nelle Maestrey, 75, of Inwood passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 10, 1942 in Hickory, NC she was the daughter of the late Paul Oliver Grist and Georgia Mae Blaylock Grist Hubbard.

For the past two and a half years, she made her home with her daughter, Jaime. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Inwood. She loved to play bingo whenever she could.

She is survived by three daughters, Tina Smith and husband, Timmy, Amy Butts and husband, Bob, and Jaime Maestrey and wife, Niki; three grandchildren, Nicole Hawse and husband, Kevin, Natalie Maestrey, Madelyn Maestrey; great-grandson, Calvin Hawse; sister, Cora Malesky; step-brother, Leroy Hubbard; niece and several nephews; and her faithful cat, Nelley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Alfred Maestrey; step-father, Ernie Hubbard; sister, Pearl Walker; and a niece.

Family will receive friends on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 10:00AM at the South Berkeley Chapel with Pastor Tim Butler officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
