Obituary for Mark Steven Parker

Mark Steven Parker, 55, of Stafford, VA, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017, at home while surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice.
Born April 9, 1962, in Manassas, he was the son of Thelma Frances Thompson Parker, of Alexandria, VA, and the late Robert Wright Parker.
Mark was an incredibly talented musician. He played both the trumpet and the piano and wrote his own music. He was an art dealer and collector. He lived life spontaneously and to the fullest. He attended services at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, in Alexandria.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his fiancé, Victoria Ann Portway, at home; two sisters: Penny Sue Parker, of Hampton, VA, and Jennifer Pisconte, and husband Julio, of Woodbridge, VA; brother-in-law, Tim Hesselbach, of Hampton, VA; four nieces and nephew: Amber Hesselbach, Caleb Hesselbach, and wife Ashley, and Raven and Lora Pisconte; four great nieces and nephews, and his black lab, Summer.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, RW and Ruby Lucille Parker, and his maternal grandparents, Hall and Ora Mae Thompson.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Monday, August 7, 2017, at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home with the Pastor Philip Bishop officiating. Interment will be in the Masonic Cemetery, Middleway.
