Obituary for Ruth Ellen Gruber

Ruth Ellen Gruber, 64, of Martinsburg, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.

Born December 16, 1952 in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late John Calvin and Virginia Zombro Hoffmaster.

She was a 1970 graduate of Martinsburg High School; and a 1974 graduate of Shepherd College. She taught typing and shorthand at Hagerstown Business College for five years. She was a banker for the last 31 years and currently had been employed by Summit Community Bank. Ruth was a longtime volunteer for the Jefferson County Fair and a charter member of Jefferson County Lady Fairfax CEOS.

She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Rawlings and husband, Bill; and two precious grandchildren, Solomon and Violet.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 10:00AM at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Sassaman and Rev. Walter Bowers officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ruth's memory to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430 or the Jefferson County 4-H Foundation, 1948 Wiltshire Road Suite 3, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
