Obituary for Mary Avey (Porturica)

Mary Porturica Avey, 87, of Martinsburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at her residence.

Born on September 20, 1929, in Trumbell County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Catherine Bittorie Porturica.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Marshall Avey, Sr.; one son, Bruce M. Avey, Jr., at home; one sister-in-law Celeste Greco Porturica, Martinsburg; nephew, Michael Porturica and children Hannah and Joseph of Leesburg, VA, niece, Michelle Porturica Palmer and Todd and their son Dean of Ellicott City, MD; niece, Angela Porturica Bates and Kenneth and their daughter Giuliana of Leesburg, VA; and nephews, Jeff, Steven, and Joseph Porturica.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Porturica and Ed Porturica.

Private interment at Rosedale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
