Obituary for Charles W. Pierce

Charles W. Pierce, 87, of Martinsburg, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017, peacefully at the Martinsburg VA Community Living Center..
Born February 15, 1930 in Berkeley County, he was the son of the late John Baker Pierce and Mary Blue Pierce.
He was a Korean War Veteran serving with the US Army serving from 1950 to 1953.
Charles was an avid gardener and loved hunting and fishing and spending time at the cabin in Mineral County, especially with his sons.
He was a life-time member of Middleway United Methodist Church
He worked at Interwoven Mills and later at Corning Glass and retired in 1995.
He was a loving father, survived by two sons, Richard G. Pierce and finace' Amy L'Ambrose and Dale E. Pierce and wife, Lois; and his one sister, Elsie Gore and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Butler; and two brothers, Paul Pierce and JB Pierce, Jr.
Toward the end of his life, a special thanks to his caregivers, Deb Moreland, Carol Crisp, Jeannie LeBre, Amy Fowler, and the staff at the Community Living Center, Dementia Unit, at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center.
Family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor John Lewis and Pastor Mike Grove officiating. Military graveside services will be held in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Middleway United Methodist Church, PO Box 580, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
