Obituary for George Anthony Hatzes Jr.

George Anthony Hatzes, Jr., Gerrardstown, formerly of Alexandria, VA, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.
Born December 3, 1924 in Manchester, NH he was the son of the late George Anthony and Helena Messier Hatzes.
He was a veteran of the US Army.
He was owner of an insurance agency, The Alexandria Corporation. He attended St. Leo Catholic Church; volunteered with the Salvation Army in Alexandria, VA; was a life-long member of the Boys Scouts of America; and was a Patron of the Arts theater program at Shenandoah University. As owner of Runnymeade Farm, George enjoyed farming.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth LeFevre of Hedgesville; and two grandchildren, Andrew LeFevre of Woodburn, IN and Cameron LeFevre of Hedgesville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Justine Marion Smiley Hatzes; one brother, Louis Hatzes; and one sister, Virginia Matthews.
Services will be held at a future date in Arlington National Cemetery.
