Douglas Ray "Doug or Uncle D"  McDavid
Douglas Ray McDavid, known to many as “Doug” or “Uncle D,” 59, of Kearneysville, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017, at the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg. Born May 24th, 1957, in Leesburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late Elijah Junior McDavid and Margaret Gaynelle Guy McDavid.
Doug served in the US Army and later became a chef at Stonebridge Golf Course. He loved his dogs and the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his brother, Billy Joe McDavid, of Kearneysville; 3 sisters, Mary Reese, and husband William, of Folkston, Georgia, JoAnn Slagle, and husband James, of Kearneysville, and Melissa Williams, of Jacksonville, Florida, as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home with the Pastor Floyd “Bucky” Chapman officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
