Obituary for James Alfred Newton

James Alfred  Newton
James Alfred Newton, 67, of Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at his home.

Born April 20, 1949 in Oakland, CA, he was the son of the late Alfred Leroy Newton and Eva Meek Newton.

He was a member of the Moler Avenue Church of the Brethren.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, Retired and was a recipient of two Purple Hearts.

He was employed by the Treasury Dept. as a purchasing supervisor.

He is survived by his two daughters, Michaela N. Browne, of Albuquerque, NM, and Lillian C. Bauer, of Harpers Ferry; four grandchildren, Orion and Lyra E. Phipps, Noah and Lydia Browne; two sisters, Eva Jean Newton and Elaine Mason, both of Palmyra, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald R. Newton.

A memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Molar Avenue Church of the Brethren with Pastor Eddie Edmonds officiating.

Full military graveside services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Final Salute Inc. P. O. Box 156, Haymarket, VA 20168.
