John David  Vanorsdale Sr.
John David Vanorsdale, Sr., 73, of Martinsburg passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Winchester Medical Center.

Born April 8, 1943 in Berkeley County, WV he was the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Vanorsdale and Bernice Millison Burkhart Vanorsdale.

He was retired Chief Deputy with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department and supervising officer of US Marshal's Service.

He was a veteran of the US Navy.

John had been a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church and served as a Deacon.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Lou Johnson Vanorsdale; two sons, John D. Vanorsdale, Jr. and wife, Stacy, Jeremy D. Vanorsdale and wife, Jennifer; five grandchildren, Jackie and her husband, Robert, Jacob, Jordan, Jade, and Dawson; and his beloved, Bella.

He was preceded in death by a brother, George Vanorsdale; and two sisters, Betty Mann and Margaret Sine.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. at Full Gospel Pentecostal Church.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.at the church with Rev. Charles Donivan officiating, assisted by Rev. Charles Conley.

Military and Law Enforcement graveside service will be conducted at Rosedale Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home.
