Obituary for Mabel Brown Carper

Mabel Brown Carper, 88 of Charles Town went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Jefferson Medical Center surrounded by her loving sons. Born May 13, 1928 in Charles Town she was the daughter of the late James Henry Brown and Golda B. Penwell. She was a member of the Calvary Bible Church, was a graduate of the Class of 1946 in Charles Town, she was so looking forward to her 70th reunion this weekend. She was a Nurse’s Aide at the VA Medical Center, loved working cross word puzzles, always in ink and was a avid reader. She is survived by one remaining sister, Shirley, four sons, Butch and companion Mary, Jimmy, Gene and wife Ila and Chuck, number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Walter Edward Carper, Sr., three sisters and one brother. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Pleasant View Memory Gardens with the Pastor Dave Moser officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Jefferson Chapel. Family request donations be made to Forgotten Children Ministry of Jefferson County, 18323 Charles Town Road, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425 or Calvary Bible Church of Martinsburg, 501 Faulkner Ave., Martinsburg, WV 25401.
