Obituary for Kenneth Wayne Thurston

Kenneth Wayne Thurston, 75 of Kearneysville passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at his home. Born July 8, 1940 in Stack County, Illinois, he was the son of the late Elmer Thurston and Hazel Hall Thurston. He attended Mannings Assembly of God Church. He was a certified carpenter for Grunley Construction. He loved wood working and being outside. He is survived by his wife Crystal Costello Thurston, two sons, Randy Thurston of St. Augustine, Florida and Victor Thurston of Missouri, step son, Marty Cato, one daughter, Laurie Thurston of Missouri, one brother Elmer Thurston, Jr. of Galva, Illinois, three sisters, Doris Stevenson of Lancaster, California, Mary Grammar of Frankfort, Indiana and Ruby Bass and husband John of Henry, Indiana, brothers and sisters in-law, Ellis Costello and wife Penny, Herbert Dunlap and wife Karen Sue, Gordon Colvin and wife Donna and Tony Cook and wife Ruth, mother in-law, Naomi Costello, numerous nieces, nephews and church family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Wilmes. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Mannings Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Shaun Roberts officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Jefferson Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jefferson Security Bank, attn: Crystal Thurston.
