Obituary for Joyce J. Stanley (Jackson)

Joyce J. Stanley, 88, of Martinsburg, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Berkeley Medical Center..

Born November 27, 1927 in Beard, she was the daughter of the late Alva H. Jackson and Nora (McCoy) Jackson.

She was employed as a teacher's aide for the Berkeley County Board of Education. Additionally, she was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star: Rebecca Lodge.

She is survived by two nephews, Gary and Joe Hollandsworth; one brother, Nixon Jackson of Mt. Hope; and one sister, Helen Wilfong, of Dunmore and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Gene Stanley, Sr.; her son, Floyd G. Stanley, Jr.; one brother, Keith Buchanan; and two sisters, Freda Hollandsworth and Lucille Arbogast.

Funeral service will be held at 3p.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Otterbein United Methodist Church with The Rev. Mark Mooney officiating. Graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 2 p.m., with The Rev. Lloyd Arbogast officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
