Obituary for Melvin Franklin Edwards
Melvin Franklin Edwards, 80, of Hedgesville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 6, 2015 at NMS Health Care in Hagerstown, MD.
Born September 16, 1935 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Gilbert Arvin Edwards and Texie Viola Faircloth Edwards.
He was the owner/operator of Mel's Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
He enjoyed playing gospel and bluegrass music at nursing homes, hospitals and many other civic events.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Catherine Rudy Edwards; two sons, Jeffrey Franklin Edwards and wife Dina of Martinsbrug, Dennis Patrick Edwards and wife, Cassie of Hedgesville; one daughter, Beverly Gail Edwards Ponton and husband Randy of SC; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Clay Edwards.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00PM on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home.
Services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, November 9, at the funeral home with Dr. Dennis Jackman officiating. Interment will be in the Assembly of God Cemetery in Hedgesville.
