William Luther  Hess
William Luther Hess, 80, of Gerrardstown, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015.

Born September 21, 1935 in Arden, WV he was the son of the late Harlen and Georgia Marpole Hess.

William was a member of Martinsburg Seventh Day Adventist church.

Upon retirement from Corning Glass he immediately went to work, working for SVB Food and Beverage Company with his son, where he drove a truck and operated a forklift. Mr. Hess was a peach orchardist and enjoyed gardening with his wife. He was a big family man and was very proud of his family and his relationships.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Jane "Palmer" Hess; one son, Terry Hess and wife, Julie; four grandchildren, James Hess and wife, Lauren, Janelle, Durrell, and Denver Hess; and three sisters, Mary Jane Hawbaker, Marcella Price, and Barbara Purnell.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, Victor, Eugene, and Clyde Hess and one sister, Geraldine Mason.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Martinsburg Seventh Day Adventist Church, with Pastor Tom Boggess and Pastor George Digel officiating.

Interment will be at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
