Obituary for Joanne Marie "Jo" Power (McNeil)

Joanne “Jo” Marie Power, 59, of Martinsburg, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015.
at the Hersey Medical Center.

Born February 22, 1956, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late
John T. McNeil and Frances R. Labille McNeil.

Mrs. Power was a member of Westview Baptist Church.

Joanne was a sweet loving and warm hearted woman who befriended everyone. Her smile and love was infectious. Her heart and arms were open to all who needed love and encouragement. She loved being a grandmother and adored her grandchildren. She was an avid animal lover. Her sweet spirit will live on through all that loved and knew her.

She is survived by her husband, James “Jim” L. Power; one son, John W. and wife Ann M. Ramos, of Waldorf, Maryland; two daughters, Marissa R. and husband Mark A. Long, of Charles Town and Regina S. Ramos and Omar Zarate, of Martinsburg; her three step-children Brynn McCarthy, Amanda and Jaimeson Power; grandchildren, Caleb Zarate and Micah and Makenzie Long and several step-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Thompson and one sister, Frances Ketner; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m., October 10, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryan Dugger officiating. The family will receive one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
