Obituary for Virginia Nettye Lewis (Collis)

Virginia Nettye Lewis, 93, of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Shenandoah Center in Charles Town.

Born July 4, 1922 in Berkeley County, WV she was the daughter of the late Harry Luther and Helen Lavene Butler Collis.

She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Caring and Sharing Class.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Sabrina Merrill and partner, Shelley Frith of Inwood; son-in-law, Samuel E. Merrill of Michigan; and one sister, Ida Lee Collis of Martinsburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Samuel Lewis; a daughter, Betty Lee Merrill; four brothers, William Harry, Clyde, Leon, and Marshall Collis; and two sisters, Catherine Collis and Madeline Wasson.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor John Yost officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 700 New York Avenue, Martinsburg, WV 25401.
