Obituary for Robert Lawrence Gerver

Robert Lawrence Gerver, 84, of Martinsburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the VA Medical Center.

Born January 26, 1931 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late George H. Gerver and Gladys Virginia Custer Willen.

He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Martinsburg.

He was the owner/operator of Opequon Furniture.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Jacqulyn Gay Moreland Gerver; three sons, Mark R. Gerver and wife, Melissa, Todd M. Gerver and Kent A. Gerver; daughter Rebecca G. Coyle and husband, Randall, all of Martinsburg; eight grandchildren, Justin, Jennifer, Tiffany, Andrew, Matthew, Kendra, Logan, and Mallory; and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Delores A. Gerver, Mona J. Gutsell and Ann V. Myers.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 2 pm at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor R. C. Coyle and Pastor Rufus T. Burton officiating. Family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm at the church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 220 S. Queen Street, Martinsburg, WV 25401; Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430; or VA Medical Center, Volunteer Services Palliative Care, 510 Butler Avenue, Martinsburg, WV 25405.
