Obituary for Meta Olivia Lloyd (Lamp)
Meta Olivia Lloyd, 88, of Martinsburg, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015, at her home.
Born December 5, 1926 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Aden W. Lamp and Edna (Braithwaite) Lamp.
Mrs. Lloyd and her late husband, Franklin where both baptized on October 21, 1956 at the First Baptist Church in Martinsburg by the Dr. Robert Stiff. She was an active member for 57 years.
She was a member of the Martinsburg Women of the Moose for many years.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Franklin Lloyd, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Ricky Lynn Lloyd, of Martinsburg and one daughter, Patsy Fowler, of Martinsburg. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin Lloyd, one son, Jerry Wayne Lloyd; four sisters, Mildred Miller, Maxine Vorous, Mary Ruth Overholtz and Jane Lamp; and her longtime companion Elwood Tumblin.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Dearing, officiating. Interment will be held at Rosedale Cemetery.
