Obituary for William Alphaeus Jeter

William Alphaeus Jeter, 67, of Martinsburg, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the VA Medical Center.

Born March 8, 1948 in Roanoke, Virginia, he was the son of the late William Jeter and Fleuretta (Long) Jeter.

He was employed as a case manager for the Dept. of Social Services in Maryland.

He was veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Jeter attended Destiny Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean (Hill) Jeter; three sons - William A. Jeter, Jr., of Chesapeake, Virginia, LaMont Jeter and wife, Maria, of Harvey, Louisiana, Corey Harland, of Baltimore, MD; three daughters - Fleuretta Jeter-George and husband, John, of Lithonia, GA, Nancy Hill-Hughes and husband, Donnell, of Baltimore, MD, and Carolyn Harland, of Martinsburg; Latrice Hill and 18 other grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Grover Sykes and a brother, Maurice Jeter.

The family will receive friends at the Brown Funeral Home on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 6 pm to 8 pm

Funeral services will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 2 pm with Pastor Rebecca Thompson officiating.

Interment, with military honors, will be held at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 1 pm.
