Obituary for Frances LuRee Miller (Flowers)


Frances LuRee Miller, 94, of Inwood, WV, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at home with her family around her.
She was born February 13, 1921 in Frederick County, VA. She was the daughter of the late Walter J. Flowers and Byrdie Moulden Flowers Mrs. Miller was a descendant of President Thomas Jefferson, her 7th great uncle.
She graduated from Stephens City High School, class of 1940.
She was a faithful member for 74 years of the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, the Wesley Class and the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Corning Glass Retiree Club, the Bunker Hill CEOS Club, and Red Hats Society.
She is survived by her two daughters, Joyce L. Carter Everhart and husband, Wayne of Clearbrook, VA, and Karen Miller Criswell and husband, Carroll (Cris) of Martinsburg; one son, Kervin W. Miller and wife, Patricia of Clearbrook, VA; six grandchildren, Stebbins Miller and wife, Casey, Melissa Doiron, Tina Carter Riner and husband, David, Larry Carter and companion Barbara, Chad Criswell and wife, Amy, and Derek Criswell and fiance' Brittany; three great-grandchildren, Crystal Riner, Sara Riner Catlett and husband Dustin, and Josh Butler; five great-great-grandchildren, Phoenix Riner, Light, Ethereal, Amai, and Nami Catlett.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Robert Wilson Miller; one son, Felix B. Miller; sister, Rowena Hamilton; and son-in-law, John R. Carter.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the South Berkeley Chapel with Pastor Wayne Frum officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
A time of fellowship, to further celebrate her life, will follow the service at the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bunker Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund, 9863 Winchester Avenue, Bunker Hill, WV 25413.
