Obituary for Betty Agnes Jett (Donohue)

Betty Agnes (Donohue) Jett, 86, departed this life on Monday, May 7, 2015. Born in Clay County, WV in 1928, she was the eldest of five children born to Roy and Mildred Butcher Donohue.
She was an avid traveler, visiting all 50 states, the Holy Lands, and many countries throughout Europe, including her beloved Ireland, which she visited seven times. She lived in twenty one different locations, including England. For 35 years she made her home with her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Dennis McCafferty. Most recently she resided near Hedgesville.
She endured the heartache of the deaths of her young husband, the Reverend Darrell E. Jett, three children, Brenda Kay Jett, Beverly "Becky" McCafferty, and Edward Jett and her grandson, Michael McCafferty, and a sister Mary Donohue Workman.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Albright and husband Frank, Karen Vinson and husband Michael, nine grandchildren, Jeffery Albright, Greggory Albright, and Alison Albright Cox, Joseph McCafferty, Tracy Moreland Arvoy, Travis Moreland, Anthony Jett, Brenda Jett, Derrick Jett and their mother Teresa Jett.
Many winters were spent in Arizona with a surviving brother and sister-in-law Clifford and Mary Donohew and special niece Pam Donohew. She is survived by John and Barbara Donohue, and JoAnn and Ovid Belt, as well as extended family.
She was known as "Mamaw" to her grandchildren and her eighteen great-grandchildren and many friends. She spend a great portion of her life caring for the needs of others. She practiced her faith as a member of the United Methodist Church.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11:00AM at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Garden of the Cross, with her friend, the Rev. Terri Coffiel officiating assisted by the Rev. Dr. Dennis Jackman.
In lieu of floral tributes, gifts may be made, designated in her name, to the Hedgesville United Methodist Church, PO Box 35, Hedgesville, WV 25427.
A time to fellowship, to further celebrate her life, will follow the service at the Hedgesville United Methodist Church.
