Obituary for Jo Ann Jones (Laidlow)

Jo Ann Laidlow Jones, 82, went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2015, after suffering with Alzheimer's for about 5 years. Mrs. Jones was born on November 12, 1932 at her parents' home on Adams Street in Martinsburg, WV. She attended local schools.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served in many areas including the Church Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She later became a member of Westview Baptist Church where she attended the Berean Bible Class.
She worked as a secretary for Standard Lime and Cement Co., later called Martin Marietta, for 15 years. Later, she worked as manager of the north-bound WV Rest Area on Interstate 81 for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Kyle Laidlow; she was the last of nine children, six sisters, Jacquelyn Laidlow, Marie Nicodemus, Mary Frances Butts, Betty Swisher, Alice June Gano, and Norma Whitford; as well as three brothers, Walter, Stewart, and Jack Laidlow.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Karl William Jones; one son, Michael Dean Jones and wife, Maurlisa; one granddaughter, Annessa Graces Jones all of Leesburg, VA; and one step-daughter, Karla Ritter of Newburgh, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Hill officiating. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
