V. Irene  Bain (Herring)

V. Irene Bain, 82, of Bunker Hill passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Grenich Personal Care Home.
Born November 25, 1932 in Toms Brook, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Herring and Erma Merica Herring.
Irene was a member of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of John Handley High School. Her hobbies included baking bread, volunteering for the Red Cross, sewing, and calligraphy. She was the proud owner of many Boston terriers over the years.
She is survived by four children, Deb Bain, David Bain, Sherri Heare and husband Steve, Shauna Herber and husband Shawn; seven grandchildren, Jes Raschella, Nick Raschella, Holli Kephart, Ian Heare, Kelly Heare, Shane Herber, Kara Herber; seven great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Tom Henry Bain and a granddaughter, Rebekah Herber. Irene was the last of her immediate family preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Brown Funeral Homes' South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 1, at the chapel with Rev. Wayne Frum officiating. Interment will be held in Bunker Hill Cemetery.
