Obituary for Louis Stanlely "Lou" Kish

Louis "Lou" Stanley Kish, 68, received his final peace on March 23, 2015 at his home while comforted and surrounded by his family.

Lou was born May 13, 1946 in Morgantown, WV the only son of the late Louis Joseph Kish and Martha Drosky Kish, graduating from University High School and briefly attending WVU before enlisting in the Air Force in 1966. He proudly served his country through 1970 as a Vietnam Veteran. Lou retired from EI DuPont in Falling Waters after 25 years of service. After initial retirement, he enjoyed serving the community at City Hospital/Berkeley Medical Center for another 11 years as a maintenance technician and landscaping steward.

Lou was a devout Lutheran with a 38 year membership in the community of faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arden, serving as a trustee of the church and a representative of the church council. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying bow hunting and fly fishing. During winter months, he tied flies for family, friends, and members of the community. He enjoyed being in the volunteer program at the USGS Leetown Fish Hatchery.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Brenda Saylor Kish and his three daughters, Betsy Grove and husband, Eddie of Martinsburg, Carrie Whitaker of Charles Town, and Melissa Kish of Martinsburg. He was a devoted grandfather to two granddaughters, Kareena and Anna Grove and one grandson, Rezdyn Whitaker. He has numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and only sibling, Martha Ann Kish of Bear, DE.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 11:00AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arden with the Rev. Christine Olson officiating.

Military graveside service will be conducted at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
