Obituary for Madeline Collis Gletner (Frye)

Madeline Frye Collis Gletner, 90, of Hedgesville died on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Canterbury Center under the care of Hospice.

Born July 20, 1924 in Ganotown, WV; she was the daughter of the late George Newton and Minnie Duetta Frye.

She was a life-time member of Central Chapel, where she was a Youth Fellowship leader.

Madeline was a 1941 graduate of Hedgesville School where she graduated second in her class. She had been a 4-H Leader, district treasurer with the WSWS Virginia Conference EUB Women's Society; and a real estate agent with Frye-Lopp Realty.

She is survived by her children, Donna Gess and husband, Bill; Daniel Collis and wife, Deborah; Nancy Miller and husband, Charlie; Joey Collis and wife, Judy; and Tracy Alderman and husband, Brent; her grandchildren, Andy Gess and wife, Michelle; Teresa Krajewski and husband, Steve; Deanna Reardon; Dayna Boyles and husband, Trampus; Timothy Collis; Ryan Miller and wife, Dana; Julie Miller; Zack Collis and wife, Jessica; Jodi Stollings and husband, Casey; and Megan Alderman; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Vincent Eugene Collis; her second husband of nine years, Douglas Russell Gletner; and her siblings, Bernard Frye, Pauline Bayer, Wayne Frye, Mary Clark, Ruby Gageby, Ruth Puffenberger, David Frye, and Elwood Frye.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Central Chapel.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 1:00PM at Central Chapel with Pastor Keith Walsworth officiating. Interment will be in Central Chapel Cemetery.
