Ellen McCulloh  Keefer (Zarger)

Ellen McCulloh (Zarger) Keefer, 79, of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at her residence while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born February 16, 1936 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Ellen M. (McCulloh) Zarger.
Ellen lived with Parkinson's Disease for 20 years and was a courageous two-time cancer survivor. She was a graduate of the Chambersburg High School class of 1954 and was a contestant of the Miss Franklin County contest in 1958.
She was employed as a secretary at the Chambersburg Trust Company for several years and many years at the Westview Baptist Church, Martinsburg, WV. She also served many years as organist at Rosedale Funeral Home and Westview Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jan B. Keefer, two children, son, Brenton J. and wife, Charlotte of Scituate, MA, and a daughter, Jennifer E. Culp and husband, Richard C. Culp, West End, NC; six grandchildren Arthur J. and Forrest J. Keefer, Abigayle M., Ellyse M., Lydia N., and Jessie D. Culp.
Also surviving are a sister, Claire Z. Mummert and husband Gerald of Chambersburg and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Westview Baptist Church, 301 S. Louisiana Avenue, Martinsburg, WV with Pastor Richard C. Culp officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30AM to 1:00PM until time of service at 1:00 PM.
Private graveside services will be held at Maplewood Cemetery, Marion, PA at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430 or National Parkinsons Foundation, PO Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
