Frances P "Nannie"  Lake (Edwards)
Frances P. “Nannie” Lake, 99, of Martinsburg went home to be with the Lord on Saturday February 21, 2015 surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born September 16, 1915, to the late Charles and Grace Edwards of Clarke County, Virginia.

Frances was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Butler in August 1962 and her second husband Carl Lake in March 1982. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Shirley “GG” Welch in November 2010.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Martinsburg, West Virginia. She was the oldest member of the church, which she loved dearly.

Frances will be sadly missed by her two sons, Bob Butler, New Market, Virginia and Tommy Butler of Martinsburg and her five grandchildren; Kim Triggs and husband, Steve of Martinsburg; Kirk Fowler of Martinsburg and significant other Linda Price of Manassas, Virginia; Roxanne Kingree and husband, Eddie of Henderson, North Carolina; Craig Butler and wife Angie of Waynesboro, Virginia; Kevin Butler and wife Lisa of Martinsburg. She is survived by her five great-grandsons; Kyle Triggs and significant other Rhonda Golden of Martinsburg; Bradley McKenzie and significant other Brooke Wean of Broadway, Virginia; Jarrett Fowler and Karsten Fowler of Winchester, Virginia, and Alex Kuhn, of Richmond, Virginia; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She is survived by one sister, Gladys Richmond of Stephen City, Virginia and son-in-law Roger Welch, Martinsburg with whom she resided.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers Joseph, James and Charles Edwards.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, West Virginia. Internment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church, 911 N. High Street, Martinsburg, West Virginia, 25401 and Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
