Obituary for William Forrest Shackelford

William Forrest Shackelford, 79, of Inwood, WV, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at his residence.
Born April 19, 1935 in Kearneysville, WV, he was the son of the late James Carper Shackelford and Charlotte Isabell Athey Shackelford.
He was a veteran and a retiree of the United States Air Force, as well as a retired employee from General Motors. Additionally, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star, and attended Otterbein United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his two sons, Anthony Wayne Shackelford of Falling Waters, and Robert William Shackelford of Hedgesville; step-daughter, Lisa Weller, step-son, James "Colonel" Smith; three grandchildren, Toni May and Bobby Shackelford and Tabitha Barrett and husband, Kenneth; one great-granddaughter, Arabella Faye Ramey; and one sister, Nellie Elizabeth Hess; and many other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Lemen Shackelford; one brother, Daniel B. Shackelford; and four sisters, Bessie Welsh, Florence Mull, Katherine Castle, and Alice Virginia Clark.
Family will receive friends on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Eastern Star Memorial Service at 6:00PM.
Services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the funeral chapel with Rev. Mark Mooney officiating. Interment will be private in Rosedale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Berkeley County Humane Society, 554 Charles Town Road, Martinsburg, WV 25405.
